Making a Grant on Gitcoin — three simple steps! 🏆

Gitcoin has been pioneering the support of open-source development and communities globally for many years now.

Round 8 of Gitcoin Grants is a 1M$ open source fund and has cool perks for donors like this Badger Airdrop!

You can make a grant in three simple steps! I’m taking the example of Matic Mitra, a global grassroots community to promote Blockchain Education.

Step 1:

Navigate to the Grants Page of the Dapp/Community you want to support https://gitcoin.co/grants/1686/matic-mitra-panvala-league

Step 2:

Click on the Add to Cart button, and the grant will be added to your cart.

Step 3:

Choose the currency and amount you would like to donate in. For the Matic Mitra Grant, we would prefer donations using PAN token, so we will choose PAN instead of DAI. If you don’t have PAN, you can acquire it here.

Click on checkout and connect to your Metamask wallet.

Select your preferences and finally click on the checkout with ZkSync/Standard Checkout option.

Now, you will have to approve two txns.

  1. Approve the spending of PAN in your wallet by Gitcoin.
  2. The actual grant txn.

Once you’ve approved these two txns, you’re done!

That’s it, the process gets easier once you’ve done it a few times, and of course, there’s a ton of benefits to be giving grants :) Donors in previous Gitcoin Rounds received 100s of $ of Badger Tokens, and I’m sure there are a lot more perks like those lined up!

Thanks for reading, please check out Matic Mitra and support us in any small way :)
